About One Physiotherapy

 

One physiotherapy is a local Ottawa physiotherapy clinic; we are here to ensure that you receive the best possible care to get you moving with comfort again. Our friendly and dedicated staff provide expert care and rehabilitation for injuries, persistent pain, vestibular disorders, and concussions, along with specialized treatments for Ehler's Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD).

At One Physiotherapy our approach is based on the philosophy that every individual is unique, and therefore requires an individualized approach to their treatment.  We want to create an experience that allows you to feel confident and empowered to navigate your recovery so you can get back to doing the things that matter most to you.  

We are a hands-on clinic.  All treatment sessions are one-on-one, during which you receive the undivided attention of your therapist. We feel this is the best way to truly understand you, the client, and your recovery goals.

Alana Petrie

Alana graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy after completing a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion at Laurentian University. Since then she has become passionate about helping people reach their goals by addressing the source of their pain as well as predisposing factors.

Alana is devoted to being able to provide the best possible care to her clients, be it through learning new treatment techniques or discovering new technologies. Alana has completed extensive post graduate training in manual therapy, taping, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), acupuncture and dry needling. She is a certified Bioflex Laser Therapist. She has also taken specialized courses and has developed expertise in the assessment and treatment of vertigo and associated vestibular disorders, as well as concussion rehabilitation.

Alana loves being active and has participated in many sports over the years. Growing up she spent every moment she could at the arena figure skating. These days, when not at the clinic, you can find her on the baseball diamond, the ski hill and out exploring Ottawa in a kayak.

Dr. Trisha Grant

Chiropractic

A native of Sackville, NB, Dr. Trisha Grant graduated from Mount Allison University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She has always had a keen interest in natural and holistic health and wellness care, so eagerly went on to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, where she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1999. From 1999-2008, Dr. Grant established a busy and successful family Chiropractic practice in Fredericton, NB. During her years in Fredericton, she also started her family and has since enjoyed raising her two children in a wellness lifestyle. In 2008, Dr. Grant moved to Ottawa, ON. At that time she decided to work as a Chiropractic Associate, to allow more opportunity for time with her children. Throughout her career, Dr Grant has provided chiropractic care to assist all members of the family achieve optimal health and wellness. Dr Grant uses a variety of evidence based treatment methods, including diversified hands-on manual adjustment techniques, several non-manual adjustment techniques, and a variety of soft tissue techniques. Incorporating these various technique approaches, as well as use of modalities (including laser, TENS, ultrasound, etc) allows her to adapt the optimal treatment approach to the unique needs of each patient, from infants to seniors and the whole family in between. In her free time, Dr Grant enjoys keeping active and fit, with a variety of classes at a local gym, walking, cycling, cross country skiing, yoga and swimming. An avid reader, she is often found in a quiet corner or outside absorbing the peace of nature lost in a good book.

Kendra Speedie

Massage Therapy

Kendra graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Algonquin College with honors in 2016. She is registered with the CMTO and is a member of the RMTAO. As she is a big believer in moving purposefully every day be prepared to have her as your own personal cheerleader.

With that empowerment in mind she will encourage you to make choices and communicate what you want during treatment. Massage therapy is not one size fits all so Kendra is excited to work with you to achieve your wellness goals in a way that works for you. Both in the treatment room and beyond with recommendations for home care exercises.

Kendra’s treatment style generally incorporates a mix of Swedish techniques, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and passive range of motion. With hopes to study and incorporate cupping therapy in the future.

When not at work you can find Kendra walking or biking the trails of Stittsville with her husband, toddler son, and dog Mia.

Laura Ramirez

Laura focused on treating musculoskeletal/orthopedic conditions and various sports injuries in the private practice setting. She’s registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and has over 8 years of experience as a Pilates/fitness instructor

Her treatments focus on education, the use of modalities, manual therapy, and exercise/Pilates to help patients reach their goals. For Laura exercise is the key to achieving a healthy life.

Pratyusha Kavuluri

Pratyusha Kavuluri graduated as a topper of the University and the State with Master’s degree in Orthopaedics and Sports in 2013. She has more than 10 years of experience in treating patients for various musculoskeletal and sports conditions such as Ligament sprains, muscle strains, post-Surgical conditions, Spine conditions and various joint disorders.

Pratyusha has always been passionate about the connection between the pelvic floor and other musculoskeletal conditions which led her to pursue a specialization in treating various pelvic floor disorders in all genders. She strongly believes that communicating well with her patients and working towards patients’ goals helps achieve better outcomes.

She is a published author in the International Journal with her research in athletes and she also played an instrumental role in designing a novel ultrasound device that helps treat acute and chronic joint pain.

Pratyusha holds certifications for the following

Level I, II and III Pelvic floor physiotherapy Functional movement training Kinesiology taping Cupping EEDS ECHO (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders)

When she is not working, she enjoys dancing, travelling, cooking and watching TV shows (especially The Office on repeat)
